BengaluruA section of disgruntled leaders in the state Congress have reportedly written a letter to AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, appealing to party central leaders to carry out the much awaited cabinet reshuffle.

Even though, it is reliably learnt that the disgruntled leaders’ demand won’t be met, it is significant as such a demand has been made ahead of the crucial Gram Panchayat elections which are due next month.
The disgruntled leaders also want the high command to take note of the performance of ministers on various counts which apparently includes cross checking the ministers’ travel diary against their oral claims on visits to their respective districts.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior leader in the party said, “It is clear that many leaders including the majority of  District Congress Committee presidents are unhappy over the way in which they are being treated by a section of ministers as well as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself on several occasions.”

The source added that though Gram Panchayat elections are conducted sans symbols, these elections are most crucial for any party. “Party leaders in various districts are worried over such a scenario and their demand is also genuine that the respective district incharge ministers must take the responsibility of boosting the morale of the party cadre. Instead, incumbent district incharge ministers are playing a hide-and-seek game with workers and leaders whenever they visit the district or the latter visit Vidhana Soudha,” the source complained.
