Lenovo A7000: World's first Dolby Atmos smartphone
Lenovo A7000 is priced at Rs 8,999
The world's first smartphone with Dolby Atmos sound has been launched in India: The Lenovo A7000 is co-created jointly by research teams of Lenovo and Dolby, who integrated the Atmos components -- hardware and software, right at the processor level.
The A7000 claims to replicate the same moving audio effect of a specially designed acoustic room through earphones plugged into the smart phone. Interestingly, Lenovo promises the Atmos effect with any good quality earphones are plugged into the phone. The device also enhances any sound or movie content that is Dolby 5.1 compliant, to Atmos quality, reengineering it to provide moving sound effects. The only possible catch here ist that today, Dolby Atmos content fit for smart phone usage is limited. In the months to follow, we can expect music, movie and game content which will be Atmos-compliant, letting you really leverage the phone's superior sound quality.
Seeing that 75% of all smart phones sold in India are priced below Rs. 10000, Lenovo has cannily priced the A7000 at Rs 8,999. Featuring a 5.5-inch screen, powered by a 64-bit 1,.5GHz Octa-core processor, the device comes with a 2900mAh battery providing 39 hours of 2G and 16 hours of 3G usage. The dual SIM (4G and 2G) phone also features an 8MP rear and 5MP front camera with selfie-beautification modes as well.
The Lenovo A7000 is currently available on Flipkart only.
