IPL 8: Kolkata Knight Riders bring down Sunrisers Hyderabad
It was the fifth defeat for Sunrisers who are precariously placed sixth on the points table

Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35 runs in their IPL match here on Monday. Sent into bat, KKR scored 167 for seven and then restricted Sunrisers to 132 for nine in their allotted 20 overs at the Eden Gardens.
It was the fifth defeat for Sunrisers who are precariously placed sixth on the points table. Kolkata, with 11 points, are third, behind Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.
Earlier, Yusuf Pathan’s late cameo lifted Kolkata Knight Riders to a fighting 167 for seven after a middle-order collapse in their IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad here on Monday.
Asked to bat, KKR were in trouble as none of their top batsman could make it big, but Pathan held fort and struck an unbeaten 30 off 19. For Sunrisers, the spin duo of Karn Sharma and Bipul Sharma conceded just 52 runs in the eight overs between them.
