THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first meeting of the newly constituted CPM secretariat took place here on Tuesday to review the political situation in the state and finalise the representatives of the party in the LDF.

The secretariat decided to retain opposition leader V S Achuthanandan, state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan and  Vaikom Viswan as representatives of the party in the LDF.

The crucial meet reviewed the party agitation in connection with the solar scam and bar bribe case. It decided to intensify the agitation demanding the resignation of Finance Minister K M Mani and Excise Minister K Babu who are facing serious charges of bribe in connection with the bar bribe case.

The secretariat called upon all party units to mobilise people for the May 7 agitation in connection with the bar bribe case. The LDF will be holding a satyagraha to demand the resignation of the ministers.
