Old-school Snake game is making a comeback on smartphones

 

The best thing about your old Nokia mobile phone  is making a grand return — Snake is back! While there have been plenty of clones, Snake Rewind, which will launch on iOS, Android and Windows Phone next week could be considered the first true new age sequel because of the involvement of creator and former Nokia engineer Taneli Armanto. He’s been working with Finnish gaming studio Rumilus Design to create the new game.

 

 

According to reports, there will be 10 different levels to play, each one with its own visual and audio theme. The video also shows several now power-ups that will be on offer to players. According to The Verge, Snake Rewind will be free to play but it may have in-app purchases.

 

It may become an instant hit upon its launch, encashing on the nostalgia factor but the real question is — can it beat Candy Crush?
