Hyderabad: The AP government is worried about being deprived of a part of Rs 2,000 crore — the funds of the state-level institutions.

While pronouncing the judgement on the AP State Council of Higher Education case, the High Court had said  that AP has no authority to interfere in the functioning of the organisations specified in the 10th Schedule, which are located in TS.

AP feels that the TS may apply this to all 97 institutions located in Hyderabad and other parts of the state and it will lose the funds of these institutions.

AP finance department officials said that these institutions had funds of around Rs 2,000 crore.  AP and TS governments have separate PD accounts for five or six institutions, the rest have single PD accounts.

While the AP and Telangana governments have separate PD accounts for five or six institutions, the rest have single PD accounts.

After the High Court judgment, the Telangana government may take over the operation of PD accounts of all the institutions listed in the 10th schedule.
