Chennai: Police officers in K.K. Nagar and M.G.R. Nagar are spending sleepless nights as they hunt for an unidentified man, who was caught on a surveillance camera peeping into residents’ bedrooms and masturbating. The search has been on for the past one week. Residents of K.K. Nagar’s sector 9 and neighbouring areas have reported sightings of a man running away from windows as soon as alarm was raised but on the night of April 29, a surveillance camera installed outside a house managed to capture an image and the man’s actions.

The homeowner, whose camera captured the offender, is also working in the police department. He has handed over the footage to the local police station. Since then, police have been on the hunt for the culprit, who appears to be clothed just on top with no pants. “Going  by his clothes, his intentions are clear. He could be a pervert who enjoys peeping into residents’ bedrooms,” police sources said.

In sweltering Chennai, keeping windows open during the summer is common practice. “He must be around 30 and was found wearing a folded full-length shirt. We hope to nab him soon,” a police officer said.
