No common sense applied in demolition: Kagodu Thimmappa

“It was the government which committed blunders in the past, now it is making an attempt to blame people for its mistake. Is this justifiable? The government should have applied common sense,” Mr Thimmappa said.

 

He said the government should first find out who committed wrong. “Did BDA allot sites without proper procedure? If it is true, then you have to initiate action against BDA officials. If BDA followed due procedure, what is the need to demolish these houses?” Mr Thimmappa asked.

 

He said he was given a site by the Legislators’ Housing Co-Operative Society in Dollar’s Colony near JP Nagar. “I think I was given a site as per rules. I think no rule was violated. Now, the government wants to demolish the area. Does it make any sense? My question to the government: If all procedures were followed while allotting sites, why do you punish the common man. Is there any rationale behind this” Mr Thimmappa asked. 

 

This is not the first time the Speaker has raised his voice against policies and programmes of the government. In the past, he slammed the government’s inefficiency in solving the forest encroachment issue and resolving BPL card problems.
