Telangana wants Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to honour letter
Congress MLC M.S. Prabhakar raised the issue at the meeting
Hyderabad: Telangana MLAs want their recommendation letters for darshan and accommodation at Tirumala to be honoured like AP MLAs since the TS government was extending all facilities to AP in the capital.
The issue figured during the estimates committee meeting held on Monday chaired by senior TRS MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy.
Congress MLC M.S. Prabhakar raised the issue at the meeting. He bro-ught to the notice of the meeting that TTD also had huge properties and temples located in TS and should not favour one state.
At this stage the panel chairman Ramalinga Reddy asked the endowment commissioner Shiv Sanker and the revenue secretary (endowments) B. Venkateswara Rao to write to TTD about this and hold consultations with TTD management to see that Telangana state legislators are extended the same facility like in AP.
The meeting also asked officials to make advance plans and preparations for holding the Sammakka-Saralamma biennial festivities in Feb. 2016 on a grand scale.
They have also asked officials to make arrangements for this unique tribal devotees fare throughout the year including providing of amenities for devotees, plan for permanent accommodation, better road connectivity and drinking water.
Congress MLA D. K. Aruna found fault with officials of Mahabubnagar district for not following the guidelines on Mission Kakatiya and not cooperating with her in Gadwal Assembly constituency. She said local TRS leaders have kept Congress MLAs away from the activity.
The Estimates Committee Chairman asked officials to send a circular to all and not to discriminate with other political party representatives.
