7.4 magnitude earthquake has struck Nepal

Chennai: For the second time in about two weeks, residents of Chennai reportedly felt mild tremors subsequent to the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on Tuesday. Nervous individuals rushed out of their multistoried offices and residences in areas like Nandanam, Foreshore Estate, Kodambakkam and Vadapalani, following the quake that occurred around 12.35 pm.

Officials at the seismological department, attached to the regional meteorological centre here, said they received as many as 15 calls from harried citizens.
