Militant hideout busted in Jammu and Kashmir, arms cache seized

Recoveries include 2 AK-56 rifles along with two magazines, 82 rounds of 7.62 mm assault rifle

Jammu: Security forces on Wednesday busted a militant hideout in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition.

Based on specific information about presence of a cache of arms and ammunitions, troops of Rashtriya Rifles and police launched a joint operation and busted a militant hideout at Kundradhan in Chasana tehsil of Reasi district today, a Defence spokesman said.

The recoveries from the hideout yielded two AK-56 rifles along with two magazines, 82 rounds of 7.62 mm assault rifle, a radio set and one hand grenade, he said.

The timely recovery of the arms and ammunition has thwarted any untoward incident in the area, the spokesman said.
