Tremors trigger panic in Andhra Pradesh
According to port sources, tremors were felt twice with one minute at 12.35 pm
Kakinada: It was deja vu for people several cities in Andhra Pradesh including Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Vijawayada as they experienced aftershcoks following a powerful quake that rocked Nepal on Tuesday again.
For the second time in last fortnight, people ran out of their offices, homes on Tuesday following the tremors in a state of panic. According to port sources, tremors were felt twice with one minute at 12.35 pm.
Port officials directed their personnel in the ports to maintain a distance of 200 meters from the ships and cranes. Meanwhile, officers at the Cyclone Warning Centre, said that there was no need to panic as these were mild tremors caused by Tuesday’s Nepal earthquake. The people of Yanam, Union Territory of Puducherry, also experienced tremors and ran out in the open.
