Not just Ahinda, I care for all: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah
He admitted that the government accorded more focus towards social welfare programmes
BENGALURU: Unfazed by attacks from within the ruling Congress and the Opposition and exuding confidence he could take the state - and every community in it - forward, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared on Wednesday that his government would continue with its special treatment of members of the ‘AHINDA’ bloc.
Mr Siddaramaiah, who was interacting with the media on the day his government completed two years in office, said the government has worked for the welfare of people of all castes and communities with the help of its social justice formula, but would maintain its tilt towards ‘AHINDA’ communities.
He, however, admitted that the government accorded more focus towards social welfare programmes, and promised to make amends by shifting its thrust to economic activities including achievement of self-sufficiency in generation of electricity.
Hinting that he has emerged stronger in the Congress, Mr Siddaramaiah said he would complete his term as Chief Minister and contest elections to the Legislative Assembly in 2018 in order to prevent communal forces from coming to power.
He slammed the BJP for maladministration in BBMP, thus adding to woes of people of Bengaluru. Mr Siddaramaiah said his government would raise the bar in terms of its performance in order to meet the expectations of people during the next three years.
