Arya is game for multi-starrers
The Maegamann star plays a convict in the film Porambokku
Arya, who plays one of the leads in Jananathan’s Porambokku which hits the screens today, considers the film to be special because his character is special. The Maegamann star plays a convict in the film and says that the audience will see many interesting facets in this message-oriented flick. The movie, according to him, reflects the director’s vision and is billed as a ‘jail drama’ with many action sequences.
Arya elaborates, “While I play a convict, Vijay Sethupathi is a hangman and Shaam will be seen as a cop. The scenes featuring the three of us have come out well. Though it was fun playing the respective characters, we kept improvising till the end. All the credit goes to Jananathan for creating such solid characters.”
Arya has been a part of several multi-starrers from the beginning of his caree Quiz him what he feels about this, and he says, “I have always been open to multi-starrers. I think it is all about the mindset. It helps a film reach out to more people and the movie itself becomes bigger when it has more than one or two popular stars.”
A good portion of Porambokku was shot in a jail and dwells on the battle between conflicting ideologies. The scenes which were shot in Kulu-Manali and Rajasthan are said to be one of the highlights of the film. Arya adds, “The sequences shot on a train, desert and snowfall was a different experience and I’m sure the audience will agree. These are things I haven't done before.”
Unlike his usual lover boy looks, the actor sports a rugged look in the film.
Arya says that he has had a slight makeover in terms of physique and hairstyle in his upcoming films Inji Iduppazhagi and the untitled film with Bhaskar too.
