Chennai: Union minister and state BJP leader Pon. Radhakrishnan said that the recent acquittal of AIADMK chief J. Jayalalithaa and three others in the assets case by the Karnataka high court should be accepted as a judicial verdict and should not be criticised.

Speaking to reporters at the Chennai airport, the minister who arrived from Delhi on Thursday afternoon, said that funds given by the Central government to states require a dynamic and strong chief minister in place for its proper utilization. “I personally think Jayalalithaa has the requisite qualities. I welcome any move that sees her reinstatement as CM as she will ensure that the state grows steadily,” he said.

Radhakrishnan also said that the Modi led administration has laid a strong foundation for the country’s continued growth during the last one year. He termed the Centre’s rejection of the Dr. Meenakumari report on marine resource management activities as government’s intention was to protect fishermen’s welfare.
