Beijing: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping for productive discussions at Xi'an and posted photos of his visit to the historic city on the social media microblog Weibo.

On the second day of his three-day China visit, Modi posted four tweets on his Chinese microblog account Weibo this morning mostly from his yesterday's visit to Xi'an where he had extensive talks with Xi stretching over five hours in a very informal setting.

"Had productive discussions with President Xi. Special thanks to him," one of his tweets said.

He posted four photos of himself, which included a photo of him and Xi along with a Monk from a Buddhist temple.

Modi has over 60,000 followers on his microblog account ever since he opened it on May 5 ahead of his visit to China, which started yesterday from Xi'an, the provincial capital of Shaanxi and hometown of President Xi.

So far he has around 65,000 followers and about 12 million hits.
