GunturUnion minister for Urban development M. Venkaiah Naidu has accused the Opposition parties of being anti-development and creating hurdles towards progress. There have been no scams or illegalities in the one year rule of the BJP government, he said and claimed that transparent governance without corruption is possible only by the BJP.

Mr Venkaiah Naidu, BJP Andhra Pradesh president and MP Kambh-ampati Haribabu, minister for medical and health Kamineni Srinivas, former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana and others participated in the party interaction meeting here on Friday.
Addressing the media, Mr Venkaiah Naidu asked what was wrong in wearing a suit and added that Jawaharlal Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi also wore suits hence there is nothing wrong with Prime Minister Narendra Modi wearing suits.

He alleged that over two lakh farmers committed suicide during the Congress regime but the Congress leaders never conducted a padayatra to console those farmer’s families but now Rahul Gandhi has started a padayatra under Kisan Sandesh Yatra to get political mileage in Telangana. He ridiculed the Congress leaders for conducting various yatras after losing power.

Mr Venkaiah Naidu said that the number of Congress MPs dwindled to 44 in Parliament from the earlier 430 under the weak leadership of Mr Rahul Gandhi and added that the Congress lost 11 elections in the recent past despite campaigning by Mr Gandhi.

He alleged that the Congress government all-otted 2,00,000 acres to industrialists and SEZs but the BJP government is providing security to farmers by increasing compensation and others in the Land Acquisition Act.

Alleging that the UPA government, led by the Congress, did not formulate any ordinance to provide special status to AP, Mr Venkaiah Naidu refuted allegations against the BJP about deceiving the AP public and assured that all promises made during elections including justice to AP would be fulfilled by the BJP government.
