Debt-ridden man kills kids, ends life

Nellore: Pressure mounted by creditors for repayment of loans he borrowed, led a man to end his life along with his two daughters at Eswarapuram in Puttur town during the early hours of Sunday.
According to information the man identified as Ramesh has two daughters, Sruti, 8, and Priya, 6, apart from his wife Indira. He was doing some petty jobs to run the family. Ramesh had borrowed nearly Rs 10 lakh from several persons including a chit fund company during last two years.
Trouble started in the family after the lenders started knocking their door demanding for payment. In this backdrop, Ramesh left home along with his two daughters around 6 pm on Saturday. He made the daughters to consume a soft drink after mixing pesticide and he too gulped the drink after confirming that they are dead in a farm at the outskirts of Puttur.
Meanwhile, his wife Indira along with relatives launched a search for Ramesh and children from Saturday night when they failed to return home even after 11 pm. Some farmers gave information about the bodies lying in the farm to the family members on Sunday morning. Moving scenes witnessed when family members broke down. SI Hanumantappa registered a case.
