IPL 8: Has Virat Kohli embroiled himself into yet another controversy?
He broke the players’ protocol during his side’s game against DD
Mumbai: Controversies don’t seem to be leaving India’s swashbuckling batsman and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli. If his exchange of words with umpire Kumar Dharmasena during his side’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday night was not enough, according to reports, Kohli might have landed himself into another controversy, during the business end of the Indian Premier League.

During RCB’s game against Delhi Daredevils that ultimately led to the match being abandoned due to rain, Kohli again broke the players’ protocol during the tie. Moments after rain interrupted play at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Kohli was seen in the corridor right next to the VIP box where his girlfriend Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was seated.

As per cricket rules, a match is alive till the last ball is bowled and a rain stoppage doesn’t give the liberty to players to step out of their designated area and mingle with other people.
Kohli was seen exchanging smiles with his girlfriend and both the lovebirds seemed to be quite cosy in each other’s company, much to the amusement of the thousands of fans present and in no time, the star duo were on the big screen and on TV screens in each and every household.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, a senior officer of the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit, on the condition of anonymity, was quoted saying that it is unbecoming of a captain to do this while the match is technically on, never mind if it's a rain stoppage.
Chairman of the IPL, Rajiv Shukla, who was also present during the match said that if Kohli did breach the ACSU protocol, he will be warned.
