Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee leaders on Monday objected to the state government issuing orders for leasing out land in the capital region, that was obtained through land pooling from the farmers, to private companies.

APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy, Leader of Opposition in AP Legislative Council C. Ramachandraiah, former ministers Botsa Satyanarayana and Anam Ramnarayana Reddy spoke to the media at Indira Bhavan here.

They said that the AP government lacks both clarity and transparency in land pooling and land acquisition for the capital region and it is only aimed at giving away valuable land to private parties.

“We will approach people as well as courts to get justice.. We will resist all such moves by the government which is bent on acquiring lands from farmers through intimidation,” the leaders said.

Meanwhile, AP Congress cadres will organise protest rallies and meetings at mandal-level offices in all the 13 districts from May 21 to June 8 protesting the “anti-people policies of both Centre and AP. Round-table conferences will also be held to discuss failures of the AP government.
