BJP lays siege to secretariat
Mr Shah will also chair the 12-member BJP core committee meeting at Thycaud government guest house
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 24-hour siege of the secretariat by the BJP in protest against the UDF government ‘corruption’ began on Monday evening.
It will be formally inaugurated by the party’s national president, Mr Amit Shah, at 12 noon on Tuesday. A former state BJP president said, “before Amit Shah arrives at the protest venue, all senior leaders of the state BJP will address the gathering.”
Mr Shah will also chair the 12-member BJP core committee meeting at Thycaud government guest house at 4 p.m. to chart out the preparations for the local body polls, said Mr V. Muraleedharan, state president.
The core committee includes Mr Muraleedharan, former state presidents O. Rajagopal, P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, P. K. Krishnadas, C. K. Padmanabhan, K. V. Sreedharan Master, vice-president M. T. Ramesh, general secretaries A. N. Radhakrishnan, K. P. Sreesan, K. R. Umakanthan, K. Subhash and K. Surendran.
Later, Mr Shah will hold a meeting at Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram, which will be attended by the state RSS leadership comprising RSS state secretary and Prantha Karyavahak P. Gopalankutty Master, state organiser and Prantha Pracharak P. R. Sasidharan and other top brass of the RSS. Prominent citizens of the capital city too would meet Mr Shah. He will leave for New Delhi at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
