Angamaly girl Lakshmi secures 2nd rank in ISC

The schools in the state recorded around 99.89 per cent pass

Thiruvananthapuram: Lakshmi Mohan of St. Patrick's Academy, Angamaly, was ranked second with 99.50 marks when 99.70 per cent of candidates from Kerala who took the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class XII exams were qualified for higher education.

The schools in the state recorded around 99.89 per cent pass in the Indian Council for School Examinations (ICSE) class X exam. Both the results were published on Monday.

The second to tenth rank holders from the state are as follows: Rahul John Joseph Trinity Lyceum, Kollam, 99 per cent; Harikrishnan K, P., Loyola School, Thiruvananthapuram, 99 per cent; Heera R. Nair Christ Nagar Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram, 99 percent; Janaki Keerthi, Christ Nagar Higher Secondary, Thiruvananthapuram 99 per cent;

Raina Mary Thomas, Kuriakose Elias English Medium School, Kottayam, 98.75 percent; Shivapriya G Holy Angels' ISC School, Thiruvananthapuram, 98.75 percent; Giffin Suresh, St. Thomas Residential School, Thiruvananthapuram, 98.75 percent; Lamia M. K., St.Thomas Residential School, Thiruvananthapuram 98.75 percent and Shwetha SVS, St Thomas Residential School, Thiruvananthapuram, 98.75 percent. In both the ICSE and ISC examinations, girls have better pass percentage than boys.  In ICSE, girls registered 99.92 percent pass while boys achieved 99.86 percent. In ISC, girls have 99.91 percent and boys 99.50 percent pass.

Schools that presented candidates: ICSE: 134, ISC: 59. No. of Candidates Appeared: ICSE: 7,354, Boys-3,497 (47.55 percent), Girls-3,857 (52.45 percent), ISC : 2,311-Boys 1,196 (51.75 percent) Girls-1,115 (48.25 percent).
