Second line force defeated India: Pervez Musharraf

New Delhi: According to reports from Karachi, Musharraf was quoted as saying, “There was a second line force, too, which caught India by the throat and that was later given the status of army,” Mr Musharraf said, addressing a function of his All Pakistan Muslim League (APML).
Media reports cited the comment as further proof that Pakistan was openly backing militants and had asked them to infiltrate in the area apart from some of the regular Pakistani troops also infiltrating.
Mr Musharraf, who masterminded the 1999 Kargil conflict and ruled over Pakistan for nine years after a military coup later that year, said India will always “remember the battle of Kargil”, Pakistani media reports said. “We entered Kargil from four points of which India was not aware,” the former Pakistan president reportedly said.
Mr Musharraf also backed recent claims by some Pakistan government ministers and the military that the India's external intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) was involved in the unrest in Balochistan and Karachi.
Indian missions in Afghanistan are functioning as training headquarters of terrorists, the evidence of which has been provided to the Afghan government, Musharraf claimed. India has denied all such claims.
Mr Musharraf also criticised the present PML-N government led by Prime Minister Sharif, saying its bad governance had created more crises in the country despite it being full of natural resources and hard-working people.
