Telangana: ‘Harassed’ mother axes son to death

NIZAMABADA differently-abled person was axed to death by his mother, who accused the former of harassing her, at Banswada on Wednesday. Vanam Bhudevi killed her son Vanam Ravi, 32, as she said she was unable to bear the harassment. 
 
According to sources, Ravi had suffered an electric shock when he was a child and doctors amputated both his hands. Since then, Bhudevi was looking after her son. 
Recently, Ravi got addicted to liquor and started harassing his mother. Unable to bear the torture, Bhudevi attacked him with axe on Wednesday. 
 
As a result of the severe injuries he sustained in the attack, Ravi died on the spot. Bhudevi later surrendered at Banswada Police Station. Vanam Anil, Ravi’s elder brother, said that his mother took the extreme step unable to bear Ravi’s attitude. Banswada police visited the spot in Kothagally and sent the body for postmortem. Cops registered a case and are investigating.
