Censor Certification agent files police complaint against Censor Board Chief Pahlaj Nihalani
Pahlaj says he is only following the rule book
Mumbai: Censor Board Chief Pahlaj Nihalani, who has run into trouble many times for his alleged authoritarian rule will now have to deal with the cops. According to a report in 9xe, authorised censor certification agent Praveen Mohara has filed a complaint against Pahlaj Nihalani in Malabar Police station.
The report states that Pahlaj had to call on the guards to throw Praveen out of the cabin after he barged in regarding some work.
Praveen was quoted as saying, “Pahlaj told me that dubbed films cannot be given a censor certificate if their dubbing has been done three years after the original released. Now, this rule was something that was applicable in 1999, not today."
Praveen has also claimed that Pahlaj rang the producer and told them to not keep him in the loop if they needed the necessary certificate.
Pahlaj said that he is aware of the police complaint. He was quoted saying, “Praveen was getting very aggressive with me. He barged into my cabin. I am not going to tolerate this kind of intrusion. I had to tell the security guards to lead him out. Is Praveen going to teach me the rulebook of censorship?
Praveen Mohara is the same person who led to the arrest of ex-Censor Board chief Rakesh Kumar for corruption charges. Praveen had filed a complaint with Crime Branch stating other certification agents were demanding money on behalf of Rakesh Kumar to clear a ‘ ‘Dauki Ke Bihav’.
