Nineteen-year-old Sree Raam, who rose to fame with films like Pasanga and Kamarakattu, is on cloud nine as he gets to share screen space with Kamal Haasan in Papanasam. “I play Cheramadurai, a cable boy in the film. Kamal owns a cable office and I play his assistant,” says Sree Raam, adding that he was indeed lucky to be a part of a big project. “It was assistant director Bhaskar, who suggested my name for the film,” he tells us.

On working with the Ulaganayagan, Sree Raam says he’s been a huge fan of the actor since his childhood days, “I got the opportunity to meet Kamal sir at the Pasanga audio launch, but never interacted with him. I did harbor a wish then to act alongside him, but never thought it’d come true so soon! I haven’t confessed to him wither what a big fan I am. Such is my respect and adulation towards him,” beams Sree Raam.

For Papanasam, he adds, the team shot extensively in Thodapuzha. “Kamal sir made me so comfortable on sets. He treated me like his family member with so much affection and care,” smiles the youngster. The Goli Soda star is also equally excited about his upcoming films, “I am working on two films as of now. One is a theatre-based script and my father Ramki Ramakrishnan is producing it. Next, I play a hero in Paisa, which is being directed by Majith.

Asked about the difference between child actors of today and earlier, Sree Raam says that they now have self-confidence, a positive attitude, and are exposed to a lot of films. “I’m also being recognised whenever I go. They even ask to pose with them for pictures, which feels great,” he signs off.
