NIZAMABADMLC post has turned a better alternative for political leaders, who were defeated in the elections or denied MLA ticket. A section of leaders in all major political parties lined up for the MLC post. Interestingly, Nizamabad district is famous for large number of MLCs representing the Legislative Council.

In this context, the leaders who aspired for MLC ticket in the ensuing MLA quota elections were disappointed as the high commands of ruling TRS and Opposition Congress and Telugu Desam denied opportunity for aspirants. The leaders are unable to digest the political equations, which are quickly changing.
In TD, Arikela Narsa Reddy, who’s MLC term came to an end hoped that he would get another chance, but in vain. In a surprise move, TD high command chose former MLA Vem Narender Reddy from Warangal district. The followers of Mr Reddy and TD activists were shocked over the decision.

Former PCC chief D. Srinivas, former Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy, former MLA S. Gangaram, party leader B. Mahesh Kumar Goud from Nizamabad district aspired for MLC tickets this time. But Congress high command picked up former Mahila Congress state president Akula Lalitha for the MLC post.

Meanwhile, TRS leaders R. Bhupathi Reddy, B. Janardhan, L.M.B. Rajeshwer, Tirumal Reddy and others aspired for MLC ticket, but party chief K.Chandrasekhar Rao chose five leaders for election barring Nizamabad leaders. Political observers opined that a few leaders may change their loyalties from existing political parties. It is learnt that a few leaders from Cong-ress and TD approached the TRS. In view of immediate political and business needs, a few leaders prefer to join the ruling party.
