The operator of a popular adult dating website says it's investigating a potential security breach, following a report that hackers stole names, email addresses and information about the sexual preferences of up to 4 million members.

A British TV report says hackers posted some of the information on an obscure website after stealing account data from the operator of AdultFriendFinder.com, which claims 64 million members use the service to "hook up, find sex or meet someone hot now." The Silicon Valley company that operates the service says in a statement that it's hired a prominent cyber-security firm to investigate and is telling members to update their user names and passwords. FriendFinder Networks has not confirmed any details but says there's no evidence any financial information has leaked.
