Top nine sensex companies add Rs 81,947 crore in market valuation
RIL, ONGC, ITC, HDFC Bank and Sun Pharma were among the major gainers
New Delhi: Nine of the 10 most-valued Sensex companies saw a cumulative addition of Rs 81,947.46 crore in market valuation last week, with TCS emerging as the biggest gainer. RIL, ONGC, ITC, HDFC Bank and Sun Pharma were among the major gainers while State Bank of India was the only scrip that saw fall in its market capitalisation (m-cap). The market cap of TCS surged by Rs 21,526.42 crore to Rs 5,13,098.59 crore, taking the biggest gain among top 10 firms.
The valuation of Sun Pharmaceutical jumped by Rs 13,680.17 crore to Rs 2,41,430.45 crore, while Infosys saw a surge of Rs 9,423.21 crore to Rs 2,34,495.08 crore. RIL's market cap climbed Rs 9,287.6 crore to Rs 2,92,106.31 crore, HDFC Bank added Rs 8,890.32 crore to Rs 2,57,204.71 crore and that of HDFC went up by Rs 8,433.4 crore to Rs 2,02,763.91 crore. The valuation of Coal India soared Rs 5,400.49 crore to Rs 2,36,674.17 crore, while that of ONGC rose by Rs 3,422.2 crore to Rs 2,75,871.78 crore.
Similarly, ITC added Rs 1,883.65 crore to Rs 2,63,269.74 crore. In contrast, SBI lost Rs 3,707.44 crore to Rs 2,13,707.54 crore in valuation. In the ranking of top-10 firms, TCS retained its numero-uno position followed by RIL, ONGC, ITC, HDFC Bank, Sun Pharma, CIL, Infosys, SBI and HDFC. Over the past week, the benchmark BSE Sensex gained 634 points to end at 27,957.50.
