Some songs remain evergreen and one such is Annarakanna Vaa from Bhramaram, which had a small, cute girl acting in its scenes. Jayashree Sivadhas has now finished her Class XII exams with flying colours.

Jayashree did not completely abandon her film career and has been seen in Mollywood films including the recent Varsham but surprisingly the shooting schedule has never affected her studies and she performed extraordinarily well in the recent Class XII exams. She has also begun shooting for her next film Action Hero Biju, which stars Nivin Pauly in the lead.

A school drama performance was noticed and that led to Jayashree debuting in Malayalam a decade back. She went on to act in films like Doctor Love, Pullimaan, Bhakthajanangalude Sradhakku and Idukki Gold among others.

Jayashree, who has been playing schoolgirl roles, is now looking up to bigger roles. “I want to do a heroine role,” she says. Easier said than done, considering the competition but she opines, “I know films are a competitive world with lots of contenders but I strongly believe that what is destined for me will come to me! I am getting some offers as the heroine so something should work out soon.”

Though Mollywood is yet to come calling with a lead role, Kollywood has proved luckier. Jayashree did the lead role in the film Venmegam two years back in which she played Rohini’s Class X daughter. Call it coincidence, her role in Action... will again see her acting with Rohini. She says, “That’s very comforting because I have acted with Rohini madam before and so am comfortable with her.” Talking about her Tamil experience, Jayashree says, “I never felt it to be a new industry because most of the technicians including the directors were Malayalis. My first Malayalam film had me acting the role of a Tamil girl, so the dialogues too did not present any problem. In fact, I had received some offers from Tamil but somehow things did not work out and if I get a good offer, I will surely act in Tamil.” Like any normal girl her age, she loves listening to music and is a trained dancer.
