A massive growth has been witnessed across the sectors of Indian economy in the post-globalised period. This phenomenal growth needs a dynamic leadership to lead the business operations and the financial market. And, apart from political leadership, the developmental sector also requires a visionary leadership. Getting leadership in all areas is a real challenge today in India. Some leaders are born while others are groomed. However, whether the leadership is in-built or developed, all need to posses certain qualities.

  • Anticipate: A dynamic leader acts three times ahead with three plans in hand to ensure that he or she does not stuck in mid of the process.
  • Flexible: The leader is expansive, effective in unfavorable situations, like a metal. Strong yet bend and reshaped in heat.
  • Communicator: Which starts with listening, understanding the individuals, their needs, situations, processes the information within him or herself and guide-lead in right direction. Talks respectfully with humble intentions.
  • Doers: They convert dreams into reality. There are different types of leaders like relational leaders, authoritarian leaders, participative leaders, silent leaders, so on. No matter what the style of leadership is every leader is a doer. They do what they commit to others and themselves.
  • Evaluate & Encourage: Considers the inputs of the group, checks on past performances and encourages working with better plans and ideas.
  • Feedback: Believes in scope of self-improvement.
  • Grateful: They value people and put them in first priority. They believe in giving, as they care for others!
  • Highly Inspiring: They inspire to think new, do better. There excellence in communication keeps people motivated.
  • Improvise: To develop competency, aims to excel.
  • Jovial: Fun loving, graceful
  • Knowledgeable: Keeps a track on relevant information
  • Learner: Learning is growing and growth indicates living. Living is giving!
  • Make things happen: Who to become? Raise their standards, risk themselves, makes mistakes, takes responsibilities and gets what they want.
  • No Nonsense people: Invests time, energy, people potentials, money, and creativity in something meaningful.
  • Operates Differently: Their risk taking attitude allows them to do things unconventionally. They demonstrate courage by acting in face of fear!
  • 4Ps: Passion, Proactive, Perseverance and Possibilities.
  • Quality: They prefer quality over quantity and do not hesitate to question and thing which doesn’t support the system or objective.
  • Resourceful: As they are informative they use the resources available and even if they don’t know still accurate answer they ask questions as they feel responsible.
  • Simplifies: They keep things simple by focusing on solutions, talk concise and shows strength.
  • 3Ts: Trust, Togetherness and Teamwork – they can distinguish good, better and best – good at judgments
  • Utility of Energy: They keep a check on utility of resources as the amount of efforts has to serve the purpose in reaching goals.
  • Visionary: They see the big picture and make better choices.
  • Wellness: They are concerned of ethical practices, healthy environment, and spiritual lovers. They understand there is much more than work and relationships.
  • X Roads: They know, even though there are set of rules, limitations, changing market trends…stills options can be created.
  • Yields: They show the audacity to admit the truth. They bless others with rewards and recognitions, allow others to grow more than them, knows serving besides leading.
  • Zeal / Zealousness: They show active interest and enthusiasm to accomplish any task.
  • Leadership, employee engagement, organizational behavior and culture change are some of today’s most critical human resource areas to be worked on. Among all these “Leadership” is such area if addressed and practiced well by individuals at all levels most of the employee engagement and organizational behavior issues would be resolved.
