HyderabadA fresh row has erupted between Telangana and AP employees. Each group is branding the other as “non-locals” accusing them  of “cornering jobs”. It all started with APNGOs president P. Ashok Babu, who alleged that about 750 TS employees had given their choice as AP cadre to the Kamalnathan Committee only to derive the benefits of the AP government's higher retirement age of 60 years against 58 years in Telangana.

Mr Babu took a dig at TS employees saying, “Those who claim to have fought for Telangana state all these years are now resorting to unethical practices to corner jobs in AP. They want to avail the benefits of the higher retirement age in AP. Around 750 TS-native employees opted for AP by giving options to the Kamalnathan Committee. How is this justified?”

This triggered protests from TS employees, who claimed that AP-native employees were in fact trying to secure jobs in TS by submitting fake nativity certificates with an aim of working in Hyderabad and surrounding districts.

“No TS employee is willing to work in AP. In fact, TS employees who were allotted AP as part of provisional allocation last year are staging demonstrations in the Secretariat demanding their reinstatement to the TS cadre. But Mr Babu is resorting to a malicious campaign against TS employees by levelling baseless allegations. We demand Mr Babu to disclose details of those 750 TS employees, who opted for AP,” said A. Padma Chary, president, TS Secretariat Employees Association.

TNGOs honorary president G. Devi Prasad also ridiculed the allegations made by Mr Babu. “If 750 TS employees had really opted for AP, why are AP employees remaining silent? Why did they fail to lodge a complaint either with the Kamalnathan Committee or the AP government? AP employees are trying to create unnecessary rift between AP and TS governments. If Mr Babu is sincere, he should try to bring pressure on AP government to ensure that AP-locals are allotted to AP only.”
