10K jobs to be created at Udyog job fair by roping in MNCs, other firms

KOZHIKODE: Lack of career planning and aimless job searching were the two reasons cited by the members of the technical cell of the National Service Scheme for the increasing unemployment among graduates. Hence with the aim to find a solution, the NSS technical cell is coming up with employment openings in various private and government entities for 10,000 jobless graduates in different sectors in the State.
The project christened as ‘Udyog 2015’, will see NSS organsing job fairs around the state in the beginning of June. Udyog mega job fair aims at pooling 10,000 vacancies by bringing together around 150 domestic and multinational companies from different sectors like engineering, IT, banking, sales and marketing, medical and para-medical and various other jobs.
Speaking about the initiative, Justin Joseph, project officer of Udyog 2015 said, “It is the lack of a clear idea that leads to the younger generation pursuing the wrong career and that often leads to unemployment. Another reason of unemployment is most youngsters develop the habit of a hopping from jobs,” he said.
“If young people only consider government jobs as secure and decent, they lose an opportunity to enjoy life”, Justin pointed out. More than government jobs, the private sector has more openings and chances for quicker admission are more possible, he said. Udyog’ envisages bringing together diploma holders, graduates and post-graduates from arts and science, engineering, paramedical, commerce, hospitality, information, technology and management streams.
