Guwahati: In what is expected to open a new chapter in the India-Bangladesh relationship, a new bus service will be started between Dhaka and Assam’s capital city from next month, whose second trial run was completed here on Sunday.

The bus service between Dhaka and Guwahati is all set to be formally flagged off during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dhaka, starting on June 6.

Security sources said that a large number of new announcements on connectivity, trade and transit, people to people contacts and cooperation in energy security and border management are on the agenda of the Prime Minister’s Dhaka visit. An agreement and a protocol will also be signed between the two countries before the services are introduced.
