ANANTAPURSeven persons from Maharashtra who were touring in the state, died when the scorpio vehicle they were traveling rammed into a house on roadside near Pedda Bodha-nam village in Chagalamarri mandal of Kurnool district in the early hours of Monday. The deceased were identified as Sagar Baso Rasal, 19, Sagar Ankush Rasal, 29, Ajith Ramachandra, 26, Nagesh Pradeep Kharede,27, Anil Satyavas Gavare, 22, and Hrushikesh Bapat, 25. The victims were natives of Kargel, Dharamudi, Delagan and Hadimaddi villages of Pune in Maharashtra.
 
Chagalamarri police said a group of friends hired a scorpio vehicle for three days to visit temples and other tourist spots in the state. They visited Srisailam temple on Sunday night and were travelling to Tirupati when the mishap occurred. When the vehicle reached Pedda Bodhanam village, its driver reportedly lost control on steering and hit a house adjacent to the National Highway.
 
Five persons died on the spot while two others, including the vehicle driver, died while being shifted to Allagadda hospital in Kurnool district. Police and locals removed four bodies stuck in the vehicle.
 
Three persons — Balanaga-mma and her two grandchildren B. Nagaraju and B. Surendra who were sleeping in the house — sustained serious injuries as the wall collapsed when the vehicle hit their house. They were shifted to Nandyal hospital. Police shifted the bodies to Allagadda hospital for post-mortem and registered a case.
