K B Ganesh Kumar moves Kerala High Court for takeover of Srividya assets
According to him, the assessment process is still pending
Kochi: Amid the allegations of fund misappropriation, K. B. Ganesh Kumar MLA on Monday moved the Kerala High Court seeking a direction to the state government to take over the assets of actress Srividya as per her last will.
Ganesh Kumar submitted before the court that he was unable to look after the charitable society registered in the name of the actress. He further contended that he had asked the state to take over the assets and hand them over to the Kerala Chalachitra Academy for executing the will.
The academy also had issued an order on August 8, 2012 appointing N. Rajkumar to assess the value of the property.
According to him, the assessment process is still pending. Ganesh moved the court against the notice issued by the income tax department pointing out that he is yet to assess the value of the property.
The petition sought a directive to the state government and the academy to conduct the sale of the actress’ property in Chennai so as to pay the tax amount due to the income tax department.
