Dressed to the nines, Dolly Sidhwani is a regular at most film premieres and screenings. Thanks to her husband Ritesh, the fashion designer finds herself attending Bollywood dos all the time, something she hadn’t envisioned for herself when she stepped into the sartorial world. “Since my family has always been into the export business, I grew up on high street fashion and designers. After I completed my degree in fashion designing from NIFT, I decided to start my own clothing line Noble Faith with my brother,” says Dolly, who has been a part of her husband’s latest Bollywood production Dil Dhadakne Do’s design team. “The film’s designer Arjun is a good friend and liked some of my stuff. So Priyanka (Chopra) is seen wearing a few of my jackets among other things,” says Dolly, who admits that acting never crossed her mind.

“No way! My association with Bollywood is restricted to designing and of course, friends. Since Ritesh belongs to a filmi family, (even his grandfather was a producer) I slowly got used to the culture,” says Dolly, who includes Adhuna (Farhan Akhtar’s wife), Bhavna (Chunky Pandey’s better half), Maheep (wife of Sanjay Kapoor), Malaika and Amrita Arora among her closest friends. The gang is often seen at launches and functions cheering for each other. “I exchange notes about work with Adhuna and Nandita at times. As for the Arora sisters, we go for walks around Bandra and are all over the place,” she says, laughing.

Dolly was on a sabbatical for a short while, taking a break from fashion to be with her kids. “But I am back now and I want to take my brand to international markets. I want to make it a global brand. My designs are for everybody. Having a producer husband has its perks because Ritesh is great with finances and helps me in all my projects,” she adds.

As for her personal style, she says, “My style is easy and comfortable. It depends on my mood. Most of the days, it’s simple yet stylish. Needless to say, I love shopping and my favourite destinations are London and New York,” Dolly reveals.

But when she isn’t designing or taking care of her kids, Dolly and Ritesh take off on short holidays. “We make sure we have dinner together, regardless of how busy either of us is. And when we have a little more time, we head to places on the outskirts of Mumbai or Goa. Just to hang out on our own,” Dolly says.
