Children write on postcards to Narendra Modi

As many as 500 post cards were sent to Modi

COIMBATORE: As many as 500 post cards were sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by children from city slum areas appealing to him to commit towards building a safer India, ensure quality justice and security for marginalised segments of the society. 
 
The children were from different slum areas from the city such as Venkatapuram, Indira Nagar, Anna Nagar, Kamarajapuram, Kembetti colony, Periyar Nagar, L.G. Thottam, Bharathipuram, MGR Nagar and Ng Pudur. 
 
This was a part of World Vision India’s initiative to support the action 2015 campaign based on the United Nations move for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
 
Action 2015 is a worldwide campaign by, among others, Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai  urging countries to create a better world by eradicating poverty, granting fundamental rights, eradicating discrimination, establishing cent percent renewable energy and accepting accountability by country heads, said Vetriselvan John K, program manager.
