New Delhi: Greeenpeace has got a breather from the Delhi High Court as it permitted the NGO to operate two of its domestic accounts on Wednesday to accept domestic contribution. This comes in the wake of the NGO approaching the High Court challening the FCRA registration and freezing of bank assets by the Home Ministry last month.
The High Cout also allowed Greenpeace to liquidate its fixed deposits, ofwho's details it had furnished. The development gives respite to the organisation as it can now avail funds for its day to day functioning.
The court also pulled up banks for not following its earlier direction to allow Greenpeace to access accounts.
