S Jaipal Reddy says Modi ignorant of history

Hyderabad: Former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being ignorant of history and geography and of being arrogant. Addressing a press conference here at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Jaipal Reddy said that Mr Modi had made his political guru L.K. Advani a mummy and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj a dummy in his governement.
He said it is normally expected from any Prime Minister to have minimum knowledge of geography while Mr Modi had said somewhere that Takshasila was in Bihar instead of Pakistan.
“Similarly, the PM seems to have no basic understanding about Indian history as he said that Alexander, during his invasion, came up to the Ganges while the fact was that he came only up to the Indus river,” said Mr Jaipal Reddy.
Mr Jaipal Reddy reminded that Mr Modi, before becoming Prime Minister, used to nail Pakistan and China often and claim himself as ‘deshbhakt’ (patriot) but he is now praising the two countries. He slammed the BJP for joining hands with the PDP in J&K.
