Bengaluru: All of them were anxiously waiting for their results for past two months. Many of them had wanted to shift from CBSE to the state board. With the PU admission process almost completed by the colleges, they were waiting on tenterhooks for their class X marks. But to their shock the CBSE postponed the class X results which were supposed to have been announced on Wednesday, for an indefinite period, without any prior intimation, causing a lot of tension among the thousands of students.

Thousands of CBSE class X students of the city, were eagerly waiting for their annual examination results on Wednesday. On May 23, the CBSE on its website issued a notification stating that the class X results for all the regions would be announced on May 27. But on the night of May 26 the said notification was removed and no fresh results date has been announced thus causing tension and confusion among the parents and students.

Many students who had arrived at their respective schools to celebrate their class X results were upset with the sudden postponement. Speaking to this newspaper, a student from Rajajinagar informed that she was not aware of the fact that the results would not be announced on Wednesday. "All of our friends had gathered in the school assuming that the results would be announced. We saw on the CBSE website that the results were to be announced today. But by the time we reached the school we came to know that the results would not be declared today. All the boards across the country have already announced class X results. We are still waiting," she said.

When are the results?: No one is clear when the CBSE will announce the class X results. Mr. Naveen Pratap, a parent said that he was trying to find out the revised date but the officials were not responding. "I called both the Chennai regional office as well as the head quarters. No one is giving any correct information. They are just transferring my call." he claimed.
Tension over the PU admission: Meanwhile hundreds of students who were planning to switch to the state PU board for class XI are now tensed up. They feel that if the results are not announced at least by this week-end, they would be in big trouble.

"I have applied at three PU colleges in and around Koramangala for the PU admission. But the colleges have already completed the admission process for first list of students. In my school, class XI (CBSE) has already started based on the marks scored by students in the preparatory examination. I am clueless about the future," says Ms. Supreetha Desai, a student.
