RSS promotes dictatorship: Rahul Gandhi
Mr Gandhi identified the RSS and Mr Modi as his party’s main targets
New Delhi: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday attacked the RSS, saying it promoted dictatorship through its model of “discipline”, and cautioned people against RSS plans to capture the education ministry. He also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying his “Make in India” programme would be a big failure.
Addressing a national convention of the NSUI, the students’ wing of the Congress party, Mr Gandhi identified the RSS and Mr Modi as his party’s main targets.
He told the delegates that this was the right time to expose them as the party is in the Opposition and the government is committing mistake after mistake.
Mr Gandhi, who spoke for barely 15 minutes, ridiculed the PM’s foreign trips, saying that in his first year in office the PM found time to travel abroad but did not get time to visit the home of a farmer or labourer to know their sufferings.
Maintaining that the “disorder” in the Congress organisation is better than the “discipline” in the RSS, he said it took him 10 years to understand that this “disorder” is the DNA and strength of the Congress family.
The “order and discipline” at RSS shakhas kills individual thinking, he observed.
“You see the shakhas of the RSS. There is a straight queue in shakhas. If any one makes a noise there, he will be hit with a baton. Have you talked to any RSS and BJP leader? Discipline is just an excuse for them to murder individuality. And this is the thought process which is running the country.”
“One person (Mr Modi) knows everything. Whether it is about farmers’ issues or education, or even clothes, only one person knows everything. We say let everyone come, sit together and speak on issues. They (RSS and BJP) say you come and sit here silently...,” he said.
