Bengaluru: In a case of road rage, three men beat up a BMTC driver and threatened him at gunpoint in full public view on the busy new Thippasandra road on Friday. The injured driver, Akmal Pasha, has filed a complaint with Jeevan Bhima Nagar police station.

Akmal was driving the bus from Shivajinagar to Kaggadasapura. When the bus reached New Thippasandra market, a sports utility vehicle intercepted the bus and three of its occupants got into the bus and started beating up the driver. When Akmal tried to resist, one of them pulled out a gun and threatened to kill him.

Shocked by this,  passengers raised an alarm. Sensing trouble the trio escaped in the car. Bus conductor Sanaulla immediately called up police. “I do not know who the attackers were, but one of them was referred as Reddy,” Sanaulla said.

Police reached the spot and recovered the CCTV footage from a nearby shop to identify the attackers.
