Rishi Kapoor praises 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', calls it modern day 'Prem Rog'
The veteran seems to have loved the sequel a lot
Mumbai: Rishi Kapoor is all praise for Kangana Ranaut-R Madhavan starrer "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" (TWNR) and the veteran actor called the film a modern take on "Prem Rog". The 1982 Raj Kapoor-directed film, starring Rishi and Padmini Kolhapure in the lead, narrated the story of a man's love towards a woman who is a widow and of a higher status.
"TWNR is a modern day Prem Rog redone in today's time. You have heard it a million times how good the movie is so don't need to say it. Bravo!," Rishi tweeted.
"Tanu Weds Manu Returns" has crossed Rs 100 crore at the box-office and the sequel of the 2011 Bollywood hit chronicles the journey of a middle class couple's failed marriage after four years. The film, which released on May 22, features Kangana in a double role and has a supporting cast of actors Jimmy Sheirgill, Deepak Dobriyal, Swara Bhaskar and Mohd Zeeshan Ayub.
