Hyderabad: The Telangana state government has succeeded in convincing the Saudi government and the caretaker of the Nizam Rubat (guesthouse) at Macca to provide free boarding and lodging to the Haj-2015 pilgrims from the erstwhile Hyderabad State.
On Saturday, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahamood Ali selected 585 pilgrims through Qurrah (draw of lots) here at the Haj House, and announced that the selected pilgrims will be provided with free meals as well as laundry facilities during their stay at Mecca.
He said the expenditure will be borne by the the Rubat caretaker through the revenue generated from rents of the commercial establishments belonging to the Rubat. To accommodate the pilgrims, the Rubat management has taken two buildings on rent apart from the one build by the Nizam. The deputy CM said the CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the government were keen to solve the issue as the pilgrims could not avail the Rubat facilities in the past three years.
