Hyderabad: The Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) has decided not to participate in the weeklong Telangana Formation Day celebrations that will start from June 2. According to a source, the TFCC had tried to meet Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao many times, but did not get appointments. “We wanted to represent the Telangana film industry, but they didn’t give us appointments. So we decided not to participate in the celebrations,” says Vijayender Reddy, TFCC president.

“If anyone attends as an individual, it’s up to them. But as a body, the committee has decided not to participate,” adds Reddy. A source added that Yadav is very friendly with Andhra producers and he is not taking any appeals from Telangana producers. “When the Telangana filmmakers wanted to meet the CM, they had taken Kodandaram, the JACC chairman, with them to get an appointment,” says the source.

During the weeklong celebrations, some of the films related to Telangana like Maa Bhoomi, Daasi, Komaram Bheem will be screened.
