Present at the launch, the cast and crew had a light-hearted chat with the media
Mumbai: ‘Baahubali’ trailer was launched in an august gathering where the hardworking cast and crew, who shot the film for over three years, were present in attendance. The film, presented by Karan Johar, had a gala launch at an event in Mumbai.
SS Rajamouli and Karan Johar came together to unveil the power packed trailer that had epic battle scenes along with few highs and lows. With spectacular visuals, the trailer won the hearts of the audience.
Present at the event were the entire cast and crew of the film including director S.S. Rajamouli, Rana Daggubati, Karan Johar, Prabhas, Tamannaah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty.
"Six years before Rajamouli sir came to me and said I want to do a very big film with you and four years ago he came and said we are doing a script called 'Baahubali'. He informed me that it will take a lot of time but this is once in a lifetime film and I am lucky to be a part of this one," said Prabha a.k.a Baahubali.
The film boasts of larger than life sets and locations that kept every one involved and up on their toes. For Rajamouli the film became a way of life. Reminicing his time spent on the sets he said, “It’s been three years since I stood before the media. ‘Baahubali’ is not just a dream come true for me. I have been living in this world for as long as I can remember. The characters came few years ago but I have been living in the world of larger than life stories and character for quite sometime now, as long as I can remember."
However, the film hints on a sequel to which Rajamoulin said, "There is a second part to this film which will be released after a year. This is the first part we are coming with."
It has been the first time when a leading director has shown such support for a south based film. Karan Johar couldn't contain his excitement for the collaboration his production house had with AA films. "It is an honour to showcase your film and bring it to this part of the country. This not only pushed the cinema envelope but it also creates new territory for the celluloid and it makes all the cine-goers a proud part of your vision, ” said Karan while addressing Rajamouli.
The film inspired by mythology ‘Mahabharat’ has characters, which will take you to a whole new world altogether. Being a part of the film enthralled Tamannaah Bhatia, who plays the lead actress in the film. "I was very happy with just being myself but after meeting Raja sir I want to be like him. He has inspired me. The way he manages his personal and professional life is something I want to learn," she said. She also gave us a sneak peek into the names Anushka and Prabhas's fans have kept for them. "With names like Sweety and Darling, you can only imagine the kind of people these two are. Did I tell you they are called Sweety and Darling down south by their fans?" said Tamannaah who says Anushka is like her best friend.
She further went on to thank Karan Johar for being a part of their journey. "Karan thank you so much without you this launch wouldn't have been as grand as it is. It means the world to us," she shared.
'Baahubali' is the first south based film presented by Karan Johar on such a large scale.
