Hyderabad: Top executives of some mobile phone manufacturing companies met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao on Tuesday and expressed interest in setting up units in the state.

They include Indian Cellular Association's National President Pankaj Mohindra, among others, according to a state government release.

Top officials of Celkon and Karbonn Mobiles visited areas near Hyderabad for setting up mobile phone hardware units and felt that these locations are suitable for the purpose, it added.

Responding to their request to provide land and infrastructure facilities to set up the units, Rao said his government would take all necessary steps.

Rao sought a detailed project report for setting up a mobile phone hardware hub, saying it would give more clarity about what his government should do.
