Karnataka Gram Panchayat polls: Not a poll for us, say DK Ravi kin
The kin boycotted GP polls on Tuesday, saying that they would keep away till they get justice in the case
Tumakuru: The kin of IAS Officer D.K. Ravi, who died under mysterious circumstances in Bengaluru on March 16, boycotted Gram Panchayat elections on Tuesday, saying that they would keep away till they get justice in the case.
Mr Ravi’s brother D.K. Ramesh, who spoke to Deccan Chronicle, said everyone in the family was unhappy with the recent developments in the case like linking the officer to real estate mafia. “We will not participate in the elections as we did not get justice till now,” he said.
Though Kunigal MLA D Nagarajaiah met the family members and tried to convince them not to boycott the elections, they chose to stick to their decision.
Meanwhile, KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar told the media “It is not good to boycott elections as the Congress party did everything to secure justice for D K Ravi’s family, including handing over the case to CBI. Though we trust CID, we handed over the case to the CBI as demanded by Ravi’s family.”
