Revanth Reddy offers to quit
TD leader asks brother Kondal Reddy to meet Naidu to take a call on his resignation
Hyderabad: TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy has asked his brother Kondal Reddy to meet AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to decide on his quitting the party following the cash for vote scam. Sources said the development came after TD leaders L. Ramana, P. Keshav and others met him in Chanchalaguda jail.
A top source said, “Revanth Reddy has asked his brother Kondal Reddy to meet Mr Naidu along with Mr Keshav to discuss his resignation from the party. Revanth is reluctant to quit as he would lose his hold on his constituency.”
The development followed the reports that TRS could move the TS Assembly to disqualify Mr Revanth Reddy. TD is making all out efforts to get his resignation to ensure that Mr Revanth Reddy is distanced from the party to avoid embarrassment, sources said.
On Tuesday around 5.30 pm, he was shifted to Charlapally jail and lodged in Ganga barrack.
‘Make naidu accused’
The Telangana State Advocates Joint Action Committee on Tuesday asked the ACB to include AP Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu as accused in the ‘cash for vote’ case and faulted ACB for not including his name.
Mr T. Sriranga Rao said, “In the video, Revanth stated nearly a dozen times that the deal is being negotiated on the instance of party president Mr Naidu. He refers to Mr Naidu as his boss and Babu on several occasions. Revanth stated in the conversation that he has been authorised by Mr Naidu to offer an amount of Rs 2.5 crore to Elvis Stephenson in return for his vote in the MLC elections in favour of TD candidate.”
